Ulrich is a Managing Partner of AmropCivitas and the Lead Partner Industrials in Germany. He is a core member of Amrop's Global Industrial Practice.

Ulrich studied Mechanical Engineering, majoring in Production Technology at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hannover, graduating in 1984. He then completed a Ph.D. in Engineering at the Production Technology Centre Hannover with a dissertation on knowledge-based production control.

He spent several years in Management Consultancy before moving into Executive Search in 1998, working initially for MSL Management Selection, later as a freelance Executive Search and Management Consultants in Duesseldorf. He joined Amrop in 2010.

Ulrich's consulting practice encompasses Executive Search for top management levels in Automotive, Engineered Products & Systems Engineering, CleanTech, Transport & Logistics, Retail, and Professional Services.

He also provides consulting services for executives in change situations. His work focuses on intervention and success assurance in management crises, management audit, establishing systematic management development strategies, designing, and introducing efficient business processes, and lean corporate structures. Ulrich co-headed Amrop's global Automotive & Industrial Practice in 2013 and 2014. He also used to be a founding member of the Amrop University Team, which designs and implements advanced learning for all Amrop employees.

Ulrich is an honorary Professor at the Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz University in Hannover. His personal interests include motorbikes, cars, skiing, and travel.
