Alexander Hartmann war Head of Banking Operations und Mitglied der Geschäftsleitung der Bank Julius Bär in Zürich. Er war Mitbegründer eines Start-ups im Bereich Biometrie. Seine Spezialgebiete sind Technologie/Digitalisierung, Industrie und Healthcare. Alexander Hartmann erwarb den Doktortitel der Betriebs- und Volkswirtschaft an der Universität Göttingen und schloss ein Post Graduate Studium an der Johns Hopkins University in Bologna sowie ein Masterstudium in Applied History an der Universität Zürich ab; er ist auch Mitglied des Leitenden Ausschusses dieses Programms. Seine über die Jahre gesammelten Erfahrungen als Verwaltungsrat verschiedener Gesellschaften nutzt er sowohl im Executive Search wie auch im Bereich Board Appointments.

Alexander joined Amrop in 2004. He was previously an Associate Partner of a Management Consulting company before joining Julius Bär, where he was Head of Banking Operations and member of the Management Committee of Bank Julius Baer in Zurich. He later co-founded and managed a leading edge start-up in the biometric industry.

Alexander specialises in Technology and Digitalization, Industrial, and Healthcare.

He holds an MBA and a PhD in Economics both from the University of Göttingen, a Master's degree in Applied History from the University of Zurich and completed postgraduate studies at the Bologna Center of the Johns Hopkins University.

He leverages his experience as a former Board member in Executive Search as well as in mandates for Board Appointments.

Alexander is a member of the Steering Committee of the Master's program in Applied History at the University of Zurich.
